Our First Ever Stay-cation

Jason and I try to go on two vacations a year. With the exception of the year of Cohen and now this upcoming year of Avery. We try for a Family Vacation and a vacation just the two of us.

Because we knew we wouldn't get a vacation just the two of us this coming year we decided to get away for 3 days, just the two of us (queue Will Smith Song). We headed out to Saratoga Springs, a Disney Resort, with large appetites and our bathing suits.

The first evening we ate the Restaurant Sanaa, it's an African themed restuarant at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. The meal was delicious, especially the naan bread with three different spreads.

But I think the most amazing part was while you were eating you were able to see a lot of the animals roaming around the resort. The rooms face a large field where you can see Zebras, Giraffes, Cattle, and so much more. And in the evenings they have a fire going and you can just sit out there and watch the animals. We've decided it's somewhere we want to take the kids and follow up with a day at the Animal Kingdom Park.

Later that evening we walked through Downtown Disney, got some ice cream and people watched!

We wanted a chocolate covered apple with reeses, but with a $9 price tag, we were cheap. It was a wonderful end to our first night.

The next morning we had a big breakfast then went to go lay out by the pool. It was really hot, so I think we only laid out for about 20 minutes before we needed to get in the pool.

That evening we went to the Polynesian Resort for Dinner. I of course forgot our camera, so we have no proof of the deliciousness that filled our stomachs. Except for maybe the receipt. At their restaurant O'hana, they have an all you can eat buffet, but they bring the food to you. It was all so good, hawaiian bread, salad with a honey lime dressing, wings, dumplings, noodles, steamed veggies, steak, shrimp, pork, chicken, and to top it off, bread pudding with vanilla ice cream topped with caramel. I could barely walk after that.

We then went to go watch The Frog Princess under the stars. We had more pool time the next day before we headed back to pick up the little man.

It was just what we both needed. To reconnect as a married couple and just relax and not worry about anything.
