Milk Art

A couple weeks ago while Cohen was having a play date, i decided last minute while Avery was napping that we would do a fun little art craft. I saw a post on a blog about Milk Art and it seemed interesting. I dug a little deeper and thought the kiddos would enjoy this.

All you do is pour some Vitamin D Milk into a shallow dish. Let the little hands drop some food coloring into the milk. And then add a drop of dish soap and watch it dance.

They loved it so much that we did it twice. I think the one below is Natalie's. And the red one I know is Cohen's. I didn't do a good job of documenting which one belonged to who. Oh well, next time.

Here the two are with their second go at it. They wanted to do it again, but all the food coloring was gone.

Visit to find a pumpkin

This past weekend we did one of my favorite things for fall. Visit the Pumpkin Patch. I'm not sure why I love it so much, I guess it's because it marks the beginning of Fall for me (since we don't get the cool weather and changing of leaves yet). And it makes for some great photo ops. Even though Cohen doesn't ever want his photo taken and Avery is to busy exploring. It definitely makes it for an adventure.

This evening was actually really nice out. It was overcast and there was a soft breeze.

Left: Cohen fell asleep in the car on the way over. After his little grouch fest when we got there, the first thing he did was walk over and pick up two pumpkins and plop them down on the ground. It was odd and funny at the same time. I think he was still sleeping. Right: Avery was giving my dad the stare down for like 5 minutes. It was the funniest thing. I really didn't know what to make of it. So I just took a bunch of pictures and laughed about it.

Avery picked up a little pumpkin and claimed it right away. She did not want anyone touching it. So funny.

Family picture. And of course Cohen wanted no part in it. He wouldn't smile, but at least he was in the picture.

We have one of Cohen like this. So fun to compare. I'll need to dig it out and do just that.

Cohen tried to climb over all of the biggest pumpkins he could find.

I wanted one picture of Cohen's face. This is the best I could get. Oh well.

We had so much fun letting the kids run around the pumpkins and having my parents join in on the fun. I am looking forward to more Fall activities!

Fall Festival

A couple of weekends ago our church hosted it's Annual Fall Festival. This year it was at the beginning of October rather then the end of October. They wanted to make it more of an outreach to the community which we thought was a great idea. But there wasn't an emphasis on dressing up, which I kind of missed.
They do have tons of games for the kids to play and win candy or prizes. There are usually bounce houses and food.
This was the first year that they had a few farm animals to pet. Two sheep and two goats to be exact. Cohen was loving it. And Avery enjoyed it too. Cohen also tried to feed one of the little goats, it wasn't having any of it, but it was fun none the less.

There was a guy there making balloon animals. All Cohen wanted was a snake and he was pretty adament about that. At first he wanted a green one. Then decided after that one was made he wanted a red one. So he got two. Lucky kid.

Photobucket
Avery was pretty excited about the balloon animal snake as well. Who knew.

Family picture time. We don't have many family pictures. But I wanted to make sure I got at least one of us at this. Here's our best try. It also happened to be the first one taken.

We rode a tiny train around the back parking lot.

Photobucket
Cohen went up and down this slide about 20 times. All in a row. I think the only reason I got him away from this was because I asked him if he wanted something to eat. Otherwise I think he would still be on it now.

And this little lady had her first go at a bounce house. She loved it! She was fearless. She did not want to leave at all. Even with bigger kids on it she just want to walk and "bounce" all she could. It was the cutest thing to watch. She couldn't keep her balance at first, but she had so much fun falling down. She would try and bounce by just bending her knees. Oh, it was so fun!

I even had to get in on the action. It was fun to jump around with them and just watch the excitement on their faces.

Photobucket
We were there over 4 hours and most time was spent at the bounce house. We had it all by ourselves a couple of times. It was a really great evening. Until we left and a certain little boy had a major breakdown because he didn't want to leave. Next time we will make sure to get there on time and not let him eat any of the candy. Well, maybe just one, but not five.

Additions to Cohen's Room

This past Saturday while Jason was helping out some friends I decided to add a little decoration to Cohen's Room. His poor room has been neglected for a long time. I guess I just needed a little inspiration to get me going. Everything I did here was free, it was already on hand, which is how I like it, unless I don't have what i want. lol.

The 'C' I actually had for over a year. I painted it way back when I was pregnant with Avery but never got around to hanging it. Mainly because I didn't know how I was going to hang it. The Bulletin board was in our office. I want to paint the trim, but haven't decided on a color, I'm leaning towards blue. And the two black frames we had already as well. I just need to get some pictures printed to put in there.

This room still has some things I want to add to it, likes lamps, a round mirror and some decorative accessories, along with storage and maybe some other things. But for now I'm a bit more happy about how this room looks.
