Visiting Santa

We recently found out that you could get a picture and take your OWN pictures with Santa at Downtown Disney! Usually you have to pay for a package at the mall and with wanting to buy gifts for everyone in our family, I just can't justify spending money on some pictures. So, Jason had Monday off and we headed down to Disney that afternoon to snap a few.

Cohen was excited to see Santa. But once he got up there with the Big Guy he was as shy as he could be. He kind of just sat there with a half smile on. It was cute though. He eventually warmed up a little to smile and nod his head to answer questions from Santa. Avery just sat in Santa's arm, relaxing. She was very unlike me the first time I saw Santa. I screamed. And screamed some more. My poor parents. They had one of those kids. We haven't really talked about what we are going to do about the whole Santa thing. Cohen hasn't asked any questions, so I'm guessing we have a good year to prepare for the next Christmas.

Cohen's Photography

Last month when we went to Jason's parents home for a nice cookout, we brought along our old point and shoot camera. I gave it to Cohen to play around with. But didn't realize the lens cover was not opening. So here are some Cohen took with a very little view.

We are seriously considering getting him one of those unbreakable kids camera's for Christmas. He's constantly asking to take pictures (and be in them) and throws fits if he doesn't get his way. The boy can cry at the drop of a hat. If we do find one for him. I can't wait to see his face when he sees what it is.

Avery is 3 Months Old

Time is really flying. And I think it's going to continue to fly now that the holidays have hit us.

Avery is now 3 months old. I'm trying to enjoy every day with her and savor every moment. Not that it's hard. I'm loving it all. Not the getting up in the middle of the night. But I am stronger about it with her than I was with Cohen. I think with Cohen I just so badly wanted to sleep at night I didn't have any patience. Now, I still want to sleep really really badly at night, but I have a lot more patience. But I'm not trying to rush anything. Just keep her on a schedule and hope it all works out soon.

So, Avery is very active. She loves to be upright and see all that is going on. She is always kicking her legs and throwing her arms up in the air. Big brother Cohen had her laughing for the first time the other day. It was so cute! She is always smiling and always talking. She has also begun the teething process. Always chewing on her hands and drooling. She's lost a lot of her hair since she was born. But hopefully that will end soon. I just love her dark hair. We are enjoying her more and more. Her little (or big) personality is really starting to show and it is so fun!!

Scenes from the Weekend

Not much happened this weekend. Nothing really at all. But Avery did move into her cloth diapers!! Finally! It's so nice not to see all those dirty disposable diapers. Now we get to look at a cute cloth diapered bum.

I suspect though I will be doing A LOT of laundry. Seeing how Cohen still is not potty trained. But to be fair, I haven't been forcing him. He goes on the potty at least once a day and at time all on his own. So, I think it will just be a matter of time. In the meantime, I'll just be washing tons of diapers.

Cohen's Photography

A little while back I gave Cohen our old, beat up, point and shoot camera to take pictures with. He is always wanting to take pictures and use mommy's nice camera. I think for Christmas we should get him a camera. One that if it drops, it won't break.

Scenes from The Weekend

Every year, the first weekend of November, our church has a camping trip to Disney's Fort Wilderness. It's not real camping. Yeah you are in tents or campers or rv's or cabins...but you have running water, bathrooms 10 ft away and electricity. But none the less, it is a super fun time and a great way to learn more about your brother and sisters in Christ.

We didn't camp this year, but visited all day Saturday. It was really great to be out of the house. With no distractions from the world.

Scenes from the Weekend

Arrrgh Matey! Halloween weekend was pretty busy for us. Friday night we headed out to our Church's Fall Festival. We all went as pirates! I thought it would be fun to have a family theme again. We figured since we won't always be able to do a family theme, we might as well take advantage of it while we can. A lot of the stuff we already had, I just went to the thrift store to get things to add to the whole effect, except for Cohen's costume, which was all bought from the thrift store. It was a really fun night. Cohen spent most of the night in the bounce house, but we did manage to get him our for a little bit to play some games.

Saturday I got a much a needed hair cut. And that evening my parents put on a BBQ for friends and family to be able to see Mike. He goes back Wednesday. It's been way to fast and short. We will be doing a lot of praying, more so than usual, until we know he is back on US soil again.

Sunday my bro came over to hang out. We were going to go trick or treating with Cohen downtown, but when his apple came back up, we decided it may be better to stay home and see how he was doing. We then watched Sherlock Holmes and around 7, Cohen was doing much better, and we wished we had gone out, because by then we didn't feel like it. Oh well, next year, when there's two running around, I'm sure it will be a lot more fun.
