Scenes From the Weekend

This past weekend was just what the Dr. ordered. Even though I am still beyond exhausted.

Saturday our Engaged and Young Married's Group had a boating and beach outting. We drove up to the intercoastal and went to one of the small islands out there. I don't think it could have been a better day for it either.

It was Cohen's first boat ride and like most boys who are fascinated by planes, trains, and automobiles, he was more than excited to go on a boat. As for the life vest...he would have been more happy not wearing it. But he got over it. When the boat first started off he wasn't sure what to think, but then again that quickly changed and he was more than comfortable.

The day was just spent relaxing, talking, eating, and more eating by me.

That pretty much summed up our weekend. I think we were too tired to do anything else.

Farewell Space Shuttle Atlantis

Today I took Cohen out to watch the Space Shuttle Atlantis take off for the last time. Well, we did it from our front yard.

Cohen just woke from his nap, that why his hair is why it is

Growing up here in Central Florida, you never missed a Space Shuttle Launch. They would let us out of class just to see it take off. And it never got old. I love it every time and I still do.

Scenes from the Weekend and Happy Belated Mother's Day

Happy Belated Mother's Day!!

First our start off with the beginning of our weekend then move on to Mother's Day.

Saturday was a combination of relaxing and getting stuff done. We spent the morning just lounging around the house and just spending time as a family of three. A month or so ago Cohen started climbing out of his crib. He went every day in one week climbing out of his bed a night and three times on the last evening. That following day, I decided it was time to convert his crib into a toddler bed, and so we did. He did surprisingly well, not leaving his room all the time. But he did however sleep on the floor a lot. Then this past weekend, we finally picked up my brother's old furniture, which was my Uncle Richards before that and my Uncle Hank's even before that. Four guys, three generations. So, he finally has all his big boy furniture set up in his room.

I still need to decide how exactly I would like to decorate it. But it is a huge step for us already!

That evening we had some dinner over at my parents house and headed out for some Gelato at a new Sweet Shop in town. I had the coconut. So Good. Reminded me of Puerto Rico and always getting some coconut ice cream when we were at the beach. It was a great time to spend with my family, since my mom worked Mothers Day.

And on to Mother's Day.

We visited my Mother-in-laws church that morning. Which was great because we had not yet done that. Then later later we went to an Italian Restaurant for lunch and walked around the downtown area a bit. We relaxed the rest of the day being quite entertained by the little man and his silliness.

Weekend Scenes

What a crazy busy weekend! It was jam packed with a to do list that only got half way done. But it was a fun weekend as well.

We started off Saturday early with picking up our mower that was in the shop and then heading out to Lowe's to get some dirt for the raised garden beds. We bought bags of compost, peat moss, and perlite and got ourselves dirty. Cohen even decided to lend us a helping hand. All I have to add now is the grid pattern and some tomato plants that have been waiting patiently and hopefully some other seeds.

After some lunch we headed out to Jason's Aunt and Uncle's home, where his uncle helped me build the play kitchen structure for the play room. We also visited with come cousins and had a great time catching up.

That evening we celebrated my mom's birthday and headed to bed early. At least I did. I was exhausted.

Then Sunday after church we celebrated some friend's daughters first birthday and had fun watching the little kids have some fun!
