Happy Birthday...To Me!!!

Today is my 25th Birthday! Whoa! A quarter of a century old. What comes with turning 25...I can rent a car!! Not that I need to and not that my husband couldn't do it for us anyway. Oh, and an insurance discount, yay!! But that's about it. And just getting older.

So, to celebrate my birthday we had a Wine Tasting Party at our Home. We had everyone dress up and some people brought their favorite wine to share. It was a lot of fun and a great time to spend with family and friends Celebrating another year of life.

I bought about 7 wines and there were probably more than double that. But there were also about 24 people there.

For each of the different types of wines I printed out cards that said a little something about them, such as their taste and what they are good to pair with.

And then I made tons of food. We had two fruit, cheese, cracker, and olive platters, mozzarella balls, bruschetta, tuscan mushrooms and an artichoke and cannalinni spread.

More pictures to come.

Soup 'n' S'mores

Friday Night was the Annual Soup 'n' S'mores for the Young Professionals and Young Marrieds Group. It always proves to be a lot of fun and I always overstuff myself with soup, bread, and s'mores.

I'll post more pics later.

Mikey

Well, today my brother left for the Army. He has been talking about it for a couple of years now and we knew the day would soon be here. This morning I went to breakfast with my brother, Dad, and Mom then hung around their house until Mike's recruiter picked him up.

My brother is 3 years younger than me and an unexpected surprise. My parents weren't planning for a second child, but God had other plans for their lives, and mine. And I'm proud to say that I'm glad that God put Michael in my life. We have always been pretty close and always got along, well..95% of the time. He has been a wonderful brother and uncle to Cohen. I will miss him so much, but I know that God is using him for his glory. And my prayer will be that Michael reflects Christ in all that he does while serving our Country.

I love you Mikey and I will miss you.

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Love is in the air...

So, this Valentine's was wonderful. Even though I have a head cold. I made pancakes and eggs for breakfast.

And my loving husband made us dinner! He has only made dinner for me one other time, two Valentine's Days ago, and it was Ziti. So, this year he stepped it up a notch with Champagne and Shrimp Pasta. It was Yummy!!

And even though it wasn't necessarily a complete dinner (no veggies, besides the mushrooms) it was delicious. Hopefully he will cook for us more!

Oh, and he also got me flowers!

Army Strong

Last night we threw a going away Party for my brother. He leaves on the 17th for the Army. I am so proud of my brother for making this decision. It is such a huge decision and I know that God is going to use him for so much good. Love you Mikey!

Strawberries and Football

This weekend was another busy, fun weekend for us. The Engaged and Young Married's Group at our church went Strawberry Picking. It was Jason and my second time going, and we decided to make it a tradition every year. After we were done gathering our goodies, we headed to one of the couple's home to enjoy the fruits of our labor along with some other goodies with a Fondue Party! Yumm-o!

Then Sunday was the Super Bowl. I like football, but wouldn't necessarily just watch it by myself. I wasn't really routing for a particular team either. Just went to hang out with friends! Here's some pics!
