Avery's Room - Crib Skirt

I finally got around to making Avery's crib skirt. I used this tutorial here since I don't have a sewing machine and not a lot of money. I think it worked out great and I am really pleased with the outcome!!

Tricycles and Faceplants

Today we had a play date, like most days. But today we (as in the kids) rode their trikes out in the driveway. We haven't taken Cohen outside with his bike yet, not sure why exactly, he just usually rides around the house. He has gotten pretty good at riding it, although he's more like Fred Flinstone than anything else. His legs aren't long enough for him to actually peddle.

We were having lots of fun until Cohen face planted going down the driveway. Thankfully he didn't get banged up too badly and like any other rough housing boy, he was back to riding his bike.

I guess I should do a Pregnancy post

I haven't done a pregnancy post since mentioning we were preggers. I think I'm overdue for one. Today I had my 32 week check up ( I was 32 weeks on Monday) and everything looks great. I'm measuring 1 week ahead of schedule and the baby is head down. Maybe with her measuring slightly ahead she will be slightly early!! One can hope! Here are just a few pics of my progression.

(the week we found out)

(2 months)

(3 months)

(4 months)

(5 months)

(6 months)

(7 months)

You also got to see the progression of my hair. Bonus! The first pic was right after I cut it. I like the length in month 3 and am so long overdue for a haircut. I digress.

As you can see, I popped quite early with this one. And I'm really hoping she doesn't make me become really big. I am already uncomfortable and I still have 8 weeks remaining, give or take.

Scenes from the Long Weekend - Happy 4th of July

It's been raining here for about a week every afternoon and sometimes in the morning. But we didn't let a little rain stop us. We headed out to one of the splash parks with my parents on Saturday. After two little girls left a little after we got there, Cohen had the whole splash pad to himself. It was the same splash park we went to for this 1st Birthday, but instead of being a little timid about the whole thing, he couldn't get enough. It was so fun to just watch him run around laughing at all the water spraying around him. And I think it was even more fun to see my parents getting in on the action. No rain got in our way, but some thunder and lightning did. So after just under an hour of water fun we headed back to our house to get ready for some dinner!

Sunday was spent with family on my mom's side that we hadn't seen in a long time. We hung out a lot with my cousin Scott, his wife, and their almost 2 year old son. There son Hunter is just 3 months younger than Cohen and they also have a little girl on the way due just two weeks after our Avery.

We enjoyed tons of food, family, and illegal fireworks over the lake thanks to the neighbors!
