For Sale, No Go

So...

We have decided not to put our house on the market. Over the last few months we have been updating our home so that it could compete with the newer homes. When we first decided to put our house on the market, the active comps were pretty favorable. Houses in our neighborhood we're going for what we were wanting to just break even or they were a little less. But we figured our home is one of the nicer ones and larger ones, it should be able to sell.

Well, the other day I was taking a look at the active comps and the sold comps, after getting much inspiration and advice from my new favorite show, Real Estate Intervention, we decided not to put our home on the market. Over the past 5 months or so, homes in our neighborhood have either been taken off the market or sold for $40,000+ less than what we even owe. And we don't want to owe anyone anything.

We are still going to be making improvements on the home and getting it to a place where we love to be and will most likely be for the next 2 years or so. So, my focus has changed. And I think I'll make a new topic, Room of the Day, where I will find inspiration for our home!!
